Belleview Biltmore Hotel Gingerbread House - 2007 Home
Chef Etienne Jehl and Chef Hueppi of the Belleview Biltmore Hotel
created a holiday gingerbread house for the 2007 Festival of Trees in Clearwater
this past weekend and won a first place ribbon! It took 16 man hours
to complete, and it was a popular stop at the show with children posing in front
of it for their parents to photograph them. The Santa Claus in the chimney
is made of marzipan. (ground almonds and sugar) And of course the fragrant
ginger aroma brought many people over to this edible house! The chefs have one a
first place award twice in the past four years. The gingerbread house was on
display at the hotel during the Christmas 2007 holiday season along with many other holiday decorations including a 22
foot Christmas tree.
