This beautifully designed rendition of the Belleview
Biltmore Hotel, Belleair, Florida was designed by former St. Petersburg
artist, Janice James, whose specialty is Florida architecture, from small
quaint beach houses to historic landmarks, landscapes, seascapes and private
homes done in the traditional manner. Limited edition prints have been
made of several landmarks in St. Petersburg and Tampa including not only
the Biltmore but the Vinoy and the Don Cesar Hotels in St. Petersburg..
She now is retired in Sun City, Florida with her husband of 55 years. She
has three daughters and one granddaughter. Ms. James has been painting
since the age of nine and has studied at the Ringling Art School in Sarasota,
Florida and the University of Miami on an art scholarship. She became
a commercial artist designing layouts and illustrating fashions for newspaper
advertising. She is a Signature member of the Florida Watercolor
Society. Her paintings have won recognition, which includes: Best
of Show and first prizes in Miami, St. Petersburg and Sarasota.
Please note that the actual size of the art work on the T shirt you purchase
is approximately: 10" x 6.5". In order to protect the artist's work from
copycats, I have purposely decreased the size of the photo. We sincerely
thank Mrs. James for letting us use her beautiful watercolor to help us
to continue to save and preserve the Biltmore.

Due to the shrinkage of the photo to save space on this web page, the type is not as clear as the real calendar. Obviously it will be clearly visible in the 8.5 by 11 inch calendar!
Biltmore Hotel Art by Local Artist Misao Adachi
This beautifully designed rendition of the Belleview Biltmore Hotel, Belleair, Florida was designed by St. Petersburg artist, Misao Adachi who was born in Miyagi Prefecture in Northern Japan and grew up and studied painting in Tokyo. His formal training as a painter was completed during ten years of apprenticeships with two Japanese Masters of the kanban tradition. The learning process was slow and demanding, but such training nurtured the patience needed for the intricate details characteristic of Misao's work today - paintings that represent both this traditional training and his living experience in the States. Kanban are hand-painted posters or billboards used to advertise movies, variety shows and the like, and Misao's training was conducted in a purely traditional manner. The majority of Misao paintings are in acrylics and oils, although he also works with watercolors. In addition to painting the historic 1897 Belleview Biltmore Hotel, he has also painted the historic Don Cesar and Vinoy Hotels in St. Petersburg, Florida. His objective in life-like paintings of people, animals, flowers, trees, and the like is not to create reproductions of his subjects, but to capture the essence of their being. Misao's own cultural background has taught him that every natural being has a 'spirit' and his work manifests an inherent desire to give expression to the universality of these 'spirits.' After traveling back and forth between Japan and the States and working as a commercial artist and illustrator in both countries during the past twenty years, Misao and his family recently relocated in St. Petersburg, Florida. His studio is located in Salt Creek Artworks on 4th Street in St Petersburg, and his website is: www.misaoadachi.com.

VINTAGE BALLERINA PHOTO
Order this delightful vintage photo of seven young ballerinas at the Belleview Biltmore Hotel. I do not know the date of the photo. Wonderful to hang in your home or business. You will receive the photo only with the caption off and the copyright information will be deleted of course. My late husband Ed Jameson and former Vice President of Save the Biltmore Preservationists found a series of these photos at an estate sale.
